Beginning March 1, Hillcrest students in pre-K though second grade who opted in to hybrid learning will return to the school. Due to the extra COVID-19 safeguards in place, the school has undertaken a massive task in getting the building and staff as ready for this step as possible.
Students have been divided into three cohorts.
- Cohort A will go to school on Mondays and Tuesdays and participate virtually on Thursdays and Fridays.
- Cohort B will follow the reverse schedule.
- Cohort C will remain entirely virtual.
- Wednesdays will continue to be reserved for extra small groups or asynchronous learning.
Beginning March 1 there will be a new schedule to follow. In-person learners will report to school at 8:40; virtual learners will begin class a 9:00 am. There will be a modified schedule for the first two weeks of hybrid learning. Refer to the Reopening Guide below for more specific details, including about transportation and lunch.
Specials will lengthen to 50 minutes each.
Students in grades 3 through 5 will return to the building on April 6.
The school has also provided video resources to help students prepare for the return:
