It is a wonderful gift that today our children attend school with children that are much different than they are. The Cultural Committee would like to present assemblies taking a proactive approach to diversity in the Hillcrest Community.
Through music, dance, and language, we can get a snapshot of different cultures to help our children respect and understand how we are all different and how we are all the same.
Around the World at Hillcrest – Celebrating Who We Are!
Each of our assemblies play a significant educational element in our Common Core Curriculum and in the classroom through foreign language, language arts, social studies, and science.

Remixing the Classics, this program merges the contrasting worlds of Classical and Hip-Hop music in a collaborative musical program featuring GRAMMY nominated Progressive Hip-Hop artist Christylez Bacon (pronounced: chris-styles) and six-string electric cellist, Wytold (William Wytold Lebing). Traditional elements of hip-hop such as human beatbox, rhyming and storytelling are blended with classical compositions of composers like Bach, Vivaldi and Pachelbel.
5TH GRADE WORKSHOP was held Thursday, December 3rd
Each 5th grade class had a 45 minute personalized workshop (11:30-12:15 or 12:20-1:05) with one of the two performers, Christylz and Wytold.
