For Family Code Night
Featuring Hour of Code puzzles from Code.org®

What?
Hillcrest is pleased to invite you to a new family event this year. We are calling this event a “Family Code Night” because you will partner with your children to explore hands-on computer science activities together. At this special evening of learning and fun, you’ll play in parent-child teams to solve Code.org® puzzles at your own pace, and learn core coding concepts. Afterwards, you’ll go home with a special “Code on at Home” guide to use when you wish to learn more and continue having fun.

Who?
Parents and students in 4th and 5th grade

When?

Monday, October 23, 2017 from 6:00 – 7:15 PM

Where?
Hillcrest cafeteria

Why?
This is a great experience to share with your children! Coding allows people to create not just consume with technology. It is an expressive medium that engages people not just intellectually, but emotionally and socially as well. Coding is empowering because it can be used to solve problems that matter to you.

How?
No coding experience is needed. Laptops will be provided. This is a family event (not an event where you drop off your child).

The program is free, but space is limited, so please sign up to attend today. Sign up online (http://signup.com/go/qySHhFZ)! If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up online for a volunteer slot too.

See you there!
