Boundary Change Committee Planning Update

Boundary Change Timeline from BCPSAs you may know, the Boundary Change process for 11 elementary schools in our area is about to get underway. The community representatives to the Boundary Change Committee are Jim Kitchel and Donna Knutson. Erika Herman is the teacher representative. We are committed to fairness and transparency throughout the process. Knowing the strength of our community, we believe that you – in turn – will be committed to patience and understanding.

The first meeting of the committee is September 16th, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the Catonsville High Cafeteria. You are welcome to *observe* all the committee meetings. Your first opportunity for direct *participation* is on November 18th, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, also at the CHS Cafeteria. The rules about observation and participation are set by BCPS. They will be live streaming the meetings and recordings will be posted on the BCPS website.

We want to truly have a dialogue with you, but we do not yet know how the committee is going to function exactly, or what the best method of communication may be. After the meeting on the 16th, we will get back to you with our ideas, based on what we learn at that first meeting. In the meantime, we have set up a specific electronic mail box – hillcrestptaboundary@yahoo.com – if you would like to share your thoughts. In accordance with our commitment to transparency, please understand that anything you send to us may end up in a blog, on a web page or otherwise batted around in public.
