The parent buddy program helps mentor new Kindergarten parents and guardians at Hillcrest with any questions they have and help them get to know the school. Volunteers can meet the parents at the back-to-school events. More volunteers are needed. Please contact us to volunteer. You can also contact us if you’re a new Kindergarten parent who would like a parent buddy.
Volunteers are also needed for the Kindergarten picnic which will be August 30th from 5 pm to 7 pm at the school playground. Contact Lauren Shutz to volunteer.

June 4: The Summer Fun Run (postponed due to weather)
Donations of small dixie cups and super soaker tubes, and volunteers are needed.
Parents are encouraged to come watch, or even run with their children. If there are enough super soakers, they may get a chance to try to squirt their children with water, which most of the kids really enjoy. Each grade level will run at the time they would normally go to their specials:
9:05 – 9:55 – 3rd Grade
10:05 – 10:55 – Kindergarten
11:00 – 11:50 – 4th Grade
12:30 – 1:20 – 5th Grade
1:30 – 2:20 – 2nd Grade
2:25 – 3:15 – 1st Grade

Why Recycle Textiles:
Donated textiles will raise funds for Hillcrest!
About 50% of the clothing collected is recycled into second-hand clothing
20% is made into cleaning and polishing cloths for industrial use
26% is recycled for use as fiber for insulation products, mattresses, fiberboard, upholstery, and even rewoven into new textiles.
This is a collaboration between the PTA and the Hillcrest Innovation Team. All are welcome! No registration is required. The events begin at 6:30 PM. We hope to see you then!
Please join us for a night of FREE, fun, hands-on family activities and learning hosted by Hot Spots, OUR School, the Hillcrest Innnovation Team and PTA!
